I truly think Ruth Eckerd Hall is one of the best venues anywhere to see live music. It’s an intimate theater and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house. Even when you’re farther back you still feel close to the stage, and the acoustics are excellent. The sound fills the room without being overwhelming, which makes performances feel personal and special. The theater itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the seats are comfortable. The staff runs things smoothly and the whole experience always feels organized and enjoyable. The only small downside is the seating layout. Because there isn’t a center aisle, if someone in the middle of a row needs to get out everyone has to stand. But honestly that’s a minor issue compared to how great the venue is overall. We just saw Paul Anka there and he was incredible. Truly timeless. Seeing a legend like that in a venue this intimate made the night even more memorable.
